The Grand-er Canyon

600 years after the beginning of the Age of Discoveries we are still finding out new things about the planet we inhabit. But what makes this recent discovery unique is the sheer scale of the topographical feature it involves.

Imagine a canyon 800km long and up to 800m deep, carved in the surface of the land. It was formed some 4 million years ago, is longer than the Grand Canyon and its existence has, indirectly, caused the Earth crust to subside by 700m. Yet, in an amazing twist, the scientists are hoping that we will never be able to see it! Da-boss is pleased to be able to give you a glimpse of this intriguing monstrosity:
